Waking up machine with Task Scheduler

Hey. I had no clue where to put this, so thought that here would be my safest bet.

In Task Scheduler, I have a task designed to wake the machine, kill any existing instances of wmplayer.exe, and then open a .m3u file, starting a radio stream. This runs every weekday, at 6am.

This works successfully, except Windows Media Player (used to play the m3u file) is visible only in the Processes list in task manager, not as an actual open application.

This wasn't really an issue, but now I want to open a jpg image as part of this task, and this is also invisible. I have made sure that the "hidden" box is unchecked in the task properties.

Any help is appreciated.

Also, my monitors do not wake up when the machine does, unless I manually move the mouse, or use the keyboard. I would like this to be automatic.

I have resolved the issue regarding the invisible task, it was because the task that opened Windows Media Player was set to "Run whether user is logged on or not". This is fairly obvious that it wouldn't show any interface if not run by the user account, and I feel somewhat foolish for not realising before now. I simply have another task, set a minute before the WMP one, which will wake the machine.

The only problem that now needs resolving is waking the monitors without manual input!

Humm, maybe try a timer to wake at the specific time, to force hovering the mouse or keyboard!

Using a macro that moves my cursor around for a few seconds seems to do the trick.
