Hi, I have decided to build a computer from scratch as I want a better gaming media machine... I have looked around and found the current hardware which I want but not am not sure if they are compatible with each other so I need some help:?

Motherboard and CPU: MOTHERBOARD BUNDLE AMD ATHLON II 630 2.8GHz QUAD CORE on eBay (end time 14-Jun-10 22:53:57 BST)

PSU: OCZ 600W ModXStream Pro Power Supply - UK: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Graphics card options (Best one???):

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-020-C3&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1402

Memory:

Case: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-HUMMER-ATX-PC-COMPUTER-GAMING-TOWER-CASE-BLACK-/250518723593?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Computing_DesktopComponents_RL&hash=item3a54145c09

I have a hard drive and also have RAM but the information on the Motherboard Bundle says "DDR2 1066/800/667/533 " and my current RAMs bandwidth is PC2-5300 (333 MHz) so will this work on the motherboard Iv selected or will I have to buy new RAM??? If you have any suggestions please let me know and thanks for the help in advanced:)

The RAM will work just fine, but you won't get top performance out of it. It will clock at 667. But there is no need to buy new RAM just yet.

A better solution than ebay would be to see if you can buy the motherboard combo from a reputable shop with a guarantee and a warranty. Just MHO.

you could just buy a pre overclocked system. then buy a Good PSU.. & maybe a GTx260/ATI 5700 lil bit more money maybe ,but then you never gave us a price range so im just giving you a idea. :)

the information on the Motherboard Bundle says "DDR2 1066/800/667/533 "

No it doesn't, read it again.

The RAM will work just fine.

Sorry but no it won't. The motherboard in the combo linked to,

ASRock > Products > N68C-S UCC

takes DDR3, and the ram linked to is DDR2. Need to find some DDR3.

As far as the case goes, if you like it. You're also going to have to buy at least one 120 mm fan for the back; and depending on what it looks like on the inside possibly one for the side as well. personally I would go with a decent case from Antec, Cooler Master, etc than some no name thing off ebay.

The power supply you selected is a good one, and more than enough for all the parts including the GTS 250 you linked too (go for it over the GT 240).

To DaGooN that Intel system looks OK, but the AMD system I would avoid. The x4 630 that BashirSabeel linked to is a better CPU that the Phenom in the one you linked too.

Thanks for the info about the hardware:) With the motherboard and CPU bundle it supports two DDR2 modules as well as DDR3 modules which I did not notice:o

"- Dual Channel DDR3/DDR2 memory technology*
- 2 x DDR3 DIMM slots
- Supports DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800 non-ECC, un-buffered memory**
- Max. capacity of system memory: 8GB***
- 2 x DDR2 DIMM slots
- Supports DDR2 1066****/800/667/533 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- Max. capacity of system memory: 8GB***
"

Im not sure about this bundle as I already have four 1GB DDR2 modules.

As for the Gaming Case I found a YouTube review link and it looks alright with a lot of internal space: YouTube - X-Case Review Hummer Gaming Case.

Sorry about that, missed that that Asrock board will take both (and can only use one or the other at a time). If you want to save a few £££ and reuse your current ram and keep the 4 GB you're going to have to look at something else. Priced these two out at Overclockers and Novatech,

overclockers.JPG

novatech.JPG

Both have the same CPU and power supply, and both motherboards are DDR2 instead of DDR3 and will allow you to use all 4 GB of your current ram.

How much of a budget do you have? All things considering with what you are looking at getting, with a new motherboard it would be better to go with a board that takes DDR3 if you can afford it.
