Want to delete extra Wireless Network connection

History: My wireless connection was not refreshing when re-enabling it. I reinstalled the driver and now my connection is refreshing as expected now and is pointing to the first wireless connection. However, I see that I now have two wireless connections!?

Questions: When I right-click on the extra wireless connection to remove it, there is no DELETE choice! I'd rather not leave disabled nor rename it. 1) How do I delete it? Or 2) should I just restore to my last restore point?

I'm not sure exactly where you are stuck so I'll try to explain this both ways.

You can usually go to the "network and sharing center" then in the left collum choose "manage wireless connections" where you should be able to delate the old wireless credentials.

If that doesn't work go to control panel then to device manager, choose "view" top of page then "show hidden devices", this should get you a list of your network adaptors where you should be able to delate or uninstall the extra ones.

What I had to do to resolve

The first method wasn't even an option. Just wasn't shown or listed.

The second method failed to work because when I rebooted, Windows reinstalled it with/without the driver installed (I tried several times). Made no sense because even when I deleted both, it failed to install the first one but installed the second one again! I know it is just an ID and means nothing but as a 'psychological factor' only (as one chap said in a related thread), I didn't want to be psychologically challenged by the issue!

The solution was as I suspected..a restore to an earlier time. This was the fix and just glad it cleanly handled the matter.
