Want to delete ie9, but can't?

Running maxthon 2.5.15.1000 (and ie8 as its engine). DL'd ie9 which runs even though I select the ie8 icon. Obviously, ie9 has replaced ie8. Couldn't find any reference to ie9 within "uninstall programs." Would like to get ie8 back and delete ie9...how?

On the "uninstall programs" page on the left side click on "view installed updates". It should be listed there.

Click on Installed Updates on the left, you will find IE9 in that list and can remove it from there.

In control panel, go to Programs and Features. In the left pane, click on "View Installed updates". Under Uninstall an Update, scroll down to MS windows section. Right click windows IE9, click Uninstall, click Yes. Choose restart now/restart later whichever is convenient.

After uninstalling ie9, ie8 will become automatically available, you dont need to install afresh.

Thanks for the help, guys. Interesting (and quite unexpected) that ie8 takes over after ie9 is uninstalled. This really let's one know that MS is fully in control, eh?

Nah.... it just reminds you that IE8 is the default browser on the OS
