It is much like chrome only a tad faster imo and it's built using chromium open source engine.

To me they are all about the same. We are actually talking about micro-seconds here for the most part.

From my experience:
IE8 will be the fastest browser (at certain sites).
Other sites, Chrome will always be faster.
And others, it will always be Firefox.

By the time you step back and take an objective look at the whole picture, they are all about on par with eachother when it comes to speed. No major differnence in the overall scheme of things.

In the end it all comes down to a few key things:
mainly which one suits your needs the best, most user friendly or ease of use (to that particular user) and comfortable to get around with. This is what matters most.

Unless of course it really matters to you that browser A loaded Seven forums .05 seconds faster than browser B.

Very true. That is my experience too. Use what you like. E.g. I do not like FF - but that is me. I like things to be simple, like IE.

My 2cents for what its worth.

Try running sites heavy in HTML5 canvas and/or Javascript and then you'll see how Chromium is much faster.

For most static webpages that only use Flash, CSS 2.1 and XHTML 1.0 (majority of them out there) you will not see that big of a difference.

In my experience ive tried and tested most browsers and i have to say that IE8 is the most compatible for me, i know that for some of you this will not be the same but i just think that IE8 had more consistancy that the others especially FF, although Chrome came a close 2nd, IE8 has been very stable for me and even better since installing win7!

What about speed of getting the job done, i.e. usability and stuff being in a logical place so you can do things quickly. Firefox with a few extensions wins by a mile. It always takes me half an hour to find anything in super fast Chrome so it kind of defeats the purpose. Opera I haven't tried lately but it messed up so many web pages in ver.9 I couldn't persevere with it.

Are you using Windows XP?

Can't see the relevance, but I use both XP32 and Win7-64. Browsers used are 32 bit due to the lack of 64 bit Flash and good 64 bit extensions for Firefox.
