None of the hyperlinks will open in my outlook 2003 email. I get a msg saying that security on this computer has denied this operation. I also use Hot Mail and the links open OK there. I have Windows 7. I have disabled all my security programs and the problem is still there. Any suggustions?

I would suggest that you uninstall and then reinstall in compatibility mode. Type compatibility mode in search. If it is not found, go to the help section.

thanks, it's working now.

I did install then uninstalled Chrome. I finally uninstalled and reinstalled firefox 3.5.5. This fixed the problem. Hyperlinks will open now. I set Firefox as my default browser. Thanks for the help.

I also can no longer access links in Outlook Windows 7. Recently I installed then removed Google Chrome. Is this the cause.

Links in Outlook

I can access links within attachments but not messages in Outlook. I recently installed and removed Google Chrome. Is there a connection?

My hyperlinks are not working in Outlook 2003, but I get a window for "Locate Link Browser" when I click on them. I have made sure IE is my default browser, but the instructions given to reset web settings do not match up with my browser. I have Windows 7 and the latest of IE and Google Chrome (which was only installed, and never removed.) Did not have this problem with Outlook 2003 on my last computer that had Windows XP.

Hyperlink problems

I did not have hyperlink problems before. I use Win7, Windows Live Mail (where I noticed the problem and it says it cannot find the application) and Mozilla Firefox.
I tried Chrome and uninstalled it.
How do I now fix this problem?

IE not compatible with Outlook 2003 in Windows 7

I found another thread that said Outlook 2003 is not compatible with IE in Windows 7. You have to have your default browser set to Google Chrome (or something else beside IE, like Firefox.)
I switched my default browser to chrome and all the links in Outlook 2003 emails immediately began working. I have not had a problem since.
