I have a new PC with windows7 and thus have live mail. While I am told how great it is and all that it can do I now learn that it cannot perform the most useful of tasks; i.e. email a web page. Can someone please explain in simple terms how to do this with 7. If I install Yahoo mail will this complicate things even more than I find them now? I had windows mail before and it was so easy to use. Thanking you in anticipation and I am pleased to have joined the forum.

With Live mail 2011, just right click on the web page and then send via live mail.

That is how you send a page via email
If you want to send the page, use snipping tool
In search type snipping tool
Outline the area that you want sent
Then save to documents
Then in eamil send as an attachment.

I had the same problem with WLM until I made the following changes:

In IE8 go to, Tools - Internet Options - Programs tab - Set Programs
button - last option, "Set program access and computer defaults"
- select "Custom" and click the double down arrow at far
right - Set the default email to WLM

Probably a good idea to also check:
Tools - Internet Options - Programs tab - Set Programs
button - first option "Set Your Default Programs"
select WLM and set it to all its defaults.

Note: you can also access the same settings from Start/Default Programs

And the way I send a page is by clicking Page/Send Page By Email

when I try to send a youtube video with file/ "link by email" I only get the web address in the email, no actual link. Everything has its defaults. I used XP today to try it and it worked perfectly.

In IE8 you want the "Page" drop down selected for "send link by email". It won't behave as a link until it is sent and then only if you have your email program set to "html" and not "text".

Under "Options" there should be a tab called "send" (at least that is where it is in the 2009/2010 version).
