Hi I'm not new I've actually been using the forums for several months.
Seven Forums is a great find for me its easy to find stuff & good tools for posting.
I am not new to computers. My first was the Sharp MZ80k bought around 1981.

Sharp MZ80K
The Sharp MZ80K was one of the popular early consumer-level microcomputers, with an architecture based on the Zilog Z80 8-bit microprocessor. It was introduced into Europe in 1979. The machine had 48KB of RAM, 32KB of which was available for user programs (the actual figure was dependent on the memory configuration and the system languages being used). It could run a variety of high-level languages including BASIC, Pascal and FORTRAN, which had to be loaded into RAM before any programming could be undertaken. It could also be programmed directly in assembly code or machine code. The machine had an inbuilt monochrome display and a cassette tape drive. The display, keyboard and cassette drive lifted on hinges to expose the motherboard and circuitry underneath. Graphics capability was primitive, with only preset shapes and icons being available and no native hi-res capability. This was not unusual for a late-1970s vintage microcomputer. The main drawback, however, of the MZ-80K was the non-standard keyboard, which was difficult to use.

The MZ-80K sold well in Europe despite its high price (it retailed at over £500 in 1980), and a large range of software was available, including some Japanese arcade games. It was superseded in 1982 by the MZ-80A machine.

It was the first of many including BBC Electron, Sinclair Spectrum ( for the kids), Amiga, My first PC was a
Intel 486 DX in 1990 & my favourite game for many years was Ultima Underworld 1 & 2.

Stve- The first computer I used was an Amiga 1000 circa 1989. I've seen your posts many times especially the ones concerning Opera and Comodo so welcome to the Welcome to Seven Forums thread!

Thannks Max, I have fond memories of the Amiga .
D'Opus (Directory Opus) started its life on the Amiga & I still use it today its, easily the best file manager available on Windows.

hello folks.i have been a lurker here for a few weeks now and must say what a helpfull and clever lot you are! i must admit a lot of it goes way over my head (not too hard,im only 5'7!) but the bits of info i can get my head around i have found most usefull. most recently i have scavanged the knowledge of how to decrease my boot time,from a rage inducing 11 mins(yes,11!) to a fairly respectable 2.35 a pretty massive improvement imo,and thats thanks to this forum. anyway,im rambling now so i will shut up.just wanted to introduce myself and i look forward to picking your collective brains! thanks,darrren.

thankyou all for the very warm welcome im not sure i will ever be able to help anyone out on here with pc related problems as my knowledge is limited at best,but hopefully in the future i will ask some relevent questions which will lead to some helpfull information that somone other than myself will find usefull!
but if not,hey,the forum has increased its membership base by one!
