Hi,
I found this website just by chance one day when I was looking for a solution for my old printer which is a HP Deskjet 656c and the microsoft website said that Windows 7 does not support it. Anyway I am about to clean install Windows 7 on my Desktop computer and I am very apprehensive whether I should go ahead as my computer is about 3 years old. I am not sure where to post my query regarding if my computer would be able to handle Windows 7 smoothly.

I am hoping to learn a lot from you guys so if my questions sound lame then please excuse me.

Carl I have already tried the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and it indicated that my HP Deskjet 656c printer is going to be the problem area but I found a work around on this website on how to install the printer driver on Windows 7. Right now I am more worried about the graphics card which is also a very old model the Nvidia GeForce 6200 LE.

Hi everyone. I'm new - nice to meet you all.

I have just encountered a problem with Windows 7 running on a new notebook I just bought. All my desktop application icons are missing. I no longer have anything on my desktop, no computer icon, no recycle bin icon, etc. They were all there about an hour ago. I've been looking all over the place to try and find some kind of answer for this problem. I really need to get these icons back on my desktop. Can any of you kind persons give me a hand on rectifiying my problem? Is there some kind of switch I need to activate or something?

Welcome to Seven Forums gleonard376. Right click the desktop, view, and put a check by show desktop icons. If no fix, post in the General forum and someone will help you. A Guy
