I have some files on my C: w/ weird extensions like .6, .7, .3, and .4. I did a quick google search and saw that these number extensions are associated w/:

  • IBM Voice Type Language Script Data File
  • Salt Lake City Game Music File
  • Screen
  • Solaris Device Config Assistant Boot Diskette
  • Unknown Apple II file
And the thing is I don't have any of these and I would remember installing something like this.

I also have 3 weird named folders like s514.1 w/ folders inside w/ ridiculously long names like 131d6187xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and inside those I have more of these ridiculously long file names and Quicktime preference files. All were created on the beginning of this yr,and I have had this machine for 3 years or so.

I have QT and iTunes installed on this machine, but on my other machine w/ QT and iTunes I do not have any of these types of files and folders.

Also I opened up the "Medion.ini" via Notepad and the shows:

Result=0

Anyone know what these are? Can I delete all of them?

If I am not mistaken they are files that were corrupted, if the computer is able to fix them it should delete them automatically. What I would do is back them up on a flash drive, and then delete them from the computer and then reboot.

What happens is if a file or folder becomes corrupted, windows will create a backup of it to be fixed, and is supposed to fix it and delete the copy that has the .1-.9 extension. Sounds like your computer didn't finish the process.
