Still playing bf3 campaign, its decent so far. Runs nice on ultra like 45-50fps avg outdoors but with only aa settings off. Indoors it runs at above 60 , lowest dip I seen was like 35 but happens rarely in the game. Stays in the 40s range most of the time.. The multi player I haven't really touched, rather finish the campaign first to get more use to the controls and all. The sniping is very different from bfbc2 though, have to aim like higher to hit ppl.

I'm playing Minecraft, a sandbox indie game.

TotalMiner is more indie ;)

No, it's not. There aren't different 'levels' of indie. A game is either independent or it isn't. It's not a sliding scale with multiple levels, but a black or white issue.

Besides, it's an XBLA cash in clone of Minecraft, and you really can't get more 'commercial' than that.

I'll gather pay 80% less for a clone of a game, especially if I'm not that interested in it.

Beat bf3 campaign, was way to short. Was like a 9 hour or so campaign since I played it for 2-3 hours a day and took me three days to beat.

After this I think I will go back and finish Bioshock Infinite, and I need to complete Crysis 3 too. I've also got another 60 or so games to go at in Steam and Origin as well as Battlefield 4 and Arkham Origins on pre order.

The Batman game sounds good I have Arkham Asylum but never finished it off the chain visuals though

I want to get the Castlevania they have on Steam right now for 29.99

Castlevania is pretty cool. It's got a combat system similar to God of War or DMC mixed with platforming elements rather like Uncharted. Not a perfect game, but it's pretty to look at, downright amazing in some places, and entertaining. It has an upgrade system for combo moves like most games of this type. Weapons are upgraded by way of progress through the game.

It's also fairly difficult, so if you're playing on normal or hard expect a bit of challenge. Easy isn't too bad, but is still harder than a lot of other beat em up type games. It's not as bad as DMC 3 or Bayonetta. I'd put it at about the same difficulty as DMC 4. Trying to button mash your way through it will only get you killed a lot. I like hard, but it's hard enough it might put casual players off a bit.

It's got an amazing VO cast, and I'm not just talking about Patrick Stewart. Very well acted.

It does take some time before the game really picks up though. The first third or so of the game just has you running around outside beating on werewolves. It's not bad or anything, but makes the game seem more generic than it really is. Once you get past that section it gets really good.

My biggest gripe is with the save points. They tend to be before platforming segments. So, if you die in a particularly difficult combat sequence you often have to climb back up to where the battle was over and over until you win. Bigger enemies take a lot of punishment. While the gameplay is very much like GoW, the enemies take much more punishment before going down than the mobs in those games do.

It's totally worth 29.99 for the game plus the console DLC.

Agreed about Batman. Arkham Asylum was excellent, Arkham City is Epic. It's a much bigger game and just as good as AA. If you're into AA, you should totally pick up Arkham City, it won't disappoint.

I am a big fan of the Castlevania stories been playing them since the 80's lol

When I seen this one on sale I had to watch the preview man it looks awesome it's done downloading I just need time to play it

I only purchased it, as a 'filler' between games, I need to save some money for other things at the moment, and I've mostly waiting for the release of GTA: V.

Total Miner was only like £2, whereas, Minecraft is about £13.99.

I used to buy 'filler games' but I try to avoid it now. I've got a huge list of playable games on Steam and I go finish something I've been putting off or replay something I've really liked when I wait for a release to give me something new to play. I've been good about not buying small filler titles that aren't more than of minor interest to me for a few years now.

I just realized on day that I was about to buy a cheap crappy game that I was likely to only actually play for a few moments once when I had about sixty titles in my Steam Library already, about ten of which I hadn't even played yet. So I stopped. My library is even bigger now, but I've eliminated the 'filler' from it and it's now composed of stuff I actually want to play.

I get the impulse buy of something that seems like it might be entertaining for a short bit. I've done it before. I just realized I was throwing my money away doing it because I usually never finished those kinds of games and most often ended up playing them once or twice before moving on to other things and never touching them again. They just took up HDD space until I deleted them.

I also don't see the point of anything like Minecraft on a console. I mean, I get other games, but Minecraft is like Torchlight in that it was made to run on any crap computer. Even at the lowest settings Minecraft is better than the console versions, with more items, enemies, and just more stuff to do. Not to mention mods and console commands. Even if someone doesn't have a 'gaming rig' they should be able to run Minecraft on a junk off the shelf Walmart PC or laptop.

It's one of those games I just don't think lends itself well to a console. The exploration and mining parts works okay, but the building, crafting, and item management sections are too clunky with a controller. I like the 360 controller and I sometimes use it to play games on my PC, so it's not the controller I dislike or an inability on my part to use it.

Some games do transition to a console pretty well, but not Minecraft. Building epic stuff is much better with the precision of the mouse and the gameplay is really not suited to a controller, and the extra stuff there is to do and build just makes the xbox version not worth it. I don't own it myself, but I have played it on the 360 and I kept finding myself unable to do a lot of the things I could do easily on the computer. Plus, the 'crafting system' is tailor made for idiots who can't be bothered to experiment and miss the point of the game. I found the Xbox version to be completely lacking and missing the point of Minecraft entirely. Hell, the Android version of the game is better than the console version.

I agree, but in all honesty if you can afford a console you can afford a better PC than that console. You might have to spend an extra month or two saving up for the initial cost, but what you'll get will last longer, play more games, and have more uses outside of gaming. You've only got to outdo a console's hardware once, once you're over that hump it's permanently better than that console until it is replaced by the next console. Even when that happens you'll probably be able to upgrade the same PC for less than the cost of the new console and still come out on top for the next cycle as well.

The idea that consoles are cheaper than PCs is a myth. The up front cost of the box itself is less, but if you factor in the other expenses involved and the higher price of games it's actually more expensive to own a console than a decent gaming PC.

Note that I'm not talking about an Uber rig with 3GPUs and a 4.5ghz CPU here. Something that can outperform the consoles [even the as yet to be released 'next gen'] isn't that expensive.

Space might be an issue, maybe. Consoles have a pretty wide footprint. They tend to not be very tall, but for the most part a decent PC doesn't have that much more of a footprint than a console does. An uber rig with a huge custom case and all sorts of cooling is another story, but a basic gaming PC with enough hardware to outperform a console isn't going to be that large really.

The cost myth is one if the biggest lies the console manufacturers rely on. It's entirely not true. It's true not everyone can afford a brand new custom PC with pimped out cooling, several GPUs, a stupidly powerful processor, and terabites worth of storage, but you don't need that to beat a console's hardware. They aren't nearly that good, and a well built mid grade PC will outperform even PS4 and Xbox 1 pretty handily if the buyer just takes the time to research what they are getting and doesn't just buy something off the shelf at Best Buy or Walmart.

I'll probably be checking that out myself. However, at the moment I've got other games to play plus Amnesia A Machine For Pigs preordered, so I'm holding off.

Looks decent and it's getting mostly good reviews, so I'm pretty sure I'll pick it up later. I like survival horror games, and I've been caught by a 'jump' here and there, but I really don't find games to be scary. Being startled for a moment isn't the same as being scared, and I've never been frightened by games or movies at all. I do enjoy the genre despite that.
