Did you have Games For Windows Live installed before installing Halo 2?

And, well I have to ask, is this a hacked game?

Nope this is the only Live game I have, if it weren't for this game I wouldn't even have a Live account. *laughs* And no, it's legit.

Hydrophobia playthrough update....

OK, I just now beat this game 3 times in a role and all three times......

Spoiler material.......    OK, so after beating SARA...... I get the cutscene of Mila getting fried, I get the cure, take the cure...... things go white...... back to fighting SARA again...... no credits rolling, no unlocked Challenge room. In fact when I try to go there I get "Please finish main story mode" :confused:

Other then that BS the game ran butter smooth after reinstalling. Anyway I'm done with it, knowing I beat it is good enough for now.

That is a bit odd. Im curious what would be causing it to loop at that point.

But, you didn't miss anything. I seen everything you did, except Mine went straight to credits rather than back to SARAH again.

Update.....

Well I just did another playthrough on that level and this time all went well and I now have the challenge rooms unlocked. Must have been the last patch that fixed the issue.

At any count, Im glad its working well for you now. TBH, I liked that game quite a bit. Looking forward to more adventures. Hopefully they add or offer more content in the future.


As far as Halo2, (Im assuming you have but..)
Have you tried navigating to the setup exe on the disc, and install the game as Compatability Vista SP1, and run as Admin?

I do not have the game and have nothing to really offer in regards to getting it running other than that

Its helped me in the past however for some GFWL games, especially for Fallout 3. I have wierd issues at first launch unless I install this way.

I've tried to install Halo a few ways as stated starting here- Halo 2 will not install on Windows 7

I originally tried to install it to help another poster but ran into the same problems he did. I might give it another try at a later date in time but it's not nothing I'm missing out on so....

BTW I have the latest version of Games For Windows Live installed.

I had to uninstall GWL . Then install GWL from the disc.
Install the game, get it up and running. Then update
GWL to latest version.

Currently playing Metro 2033. Gave it a go a while back but couldn't get into it. Having nothing to play right now I figured I'd give it another try.

I had quit the game once due to the stupid gas mask bug where you can't remove it unless you have filters. That frustrated me to the point of deleting the entire game, including saves so I had to start over again.

Right now I'm in the trolley fighting the Germans. Anyway once I make it back through the library again everything from there will be new since I never finished the game.

So now that I know about that stupid gas mask issue I'll try to avoid it before advancing to the next level, otherwise I'll be stuck with a gas mask I can't get off!

I must say that the game looks good with a DX11 card. Performance is a little stutterry at times though, but I am running it at max settings at 1920x1080.

Not a bad looking game graphically speaking.

i refuse to play any MMORPG, i'm one of those people who are prone to gaming addiction, i don't want to be addicted to games.

I decided to permanently install The Saboteur + Just Cause 2 and go berserk when I have nothing else to play. Huge sandboxes like this are perfect for my occasional psychopathic moods xD

Aside from that:

1. Duke Nukem Forever: I think I already mentioned this somewhere; after waiting for the game for SO LONG, my personal expectations were pretty low, thus I am not disappointed to play this. As a FPS it's nothing new or original compared to any other games (and even the old Duke) but at least we have it. Saying that it's a disappointment to me says people just don't know how to enjoy a video game. I hate the soundtrack, though, especially the loading screens, there's nothing badass about the music. I mean, c'mon, it's DUKE!

2. Dungeon Siege 3: Why in the name of all the old gods did I buy this piece of crap? DS3 is nothing like the old ones, it's purely an action RPG with an even bigger focus on the fights, which haven't even been developed properly. The fighting system is ridiculous, you get one... yes, ONE basic combo per stance that you have to look at THROUGHOUT the game. There is no possibility to change the keyboard setup, and NOTHING explains certain actions such as visual tracking of the damn quests with R!!! The characters are bland and uninteresting, the names sound like they're all from Russia/Ukraine, or even my own, the music soundtrack is forgettable. The camera... oh, dear gods, the camera... It's almost impossible to play with a mouse, especially if you don't have an actual, fancy gaming mouse. Forget the right click movement and stuff, WASD + un-bugging the camera rotation by moving the cursor to the edges of the screen.
Your character will ALWAYS, and I do mean ALWAYS only attack right in front of him. You can't select targets anymore and go crazy, nope, left click means a slash right in front of you... Too many times have I seen enemies simply step back from range while I slash around like a retard. There ARE some interesting things in the fighting system, but let me make this clear, this is ten times worse then what we saw in DA2.

-: Made by OBSIDIAN! What the hell, people, it's Obsidian, so why is the game this bad? *sigh* Square Enix, just... *sigh*

I got hooked on playing Neverwinter Nights 1. It was made in what, 1998? I play Day of Defeat: Source at times too. I figure there are more games than I will ever be able to play in my life time, so I might as well stop buying them and play the unfinishable games I already have. I do have an urge to buy Starcraft II.

Dungeon Siege 3 is not that bad, i haven't played the first two so my argument carries no weight. Its a Diablo clone but one the better ones ive played. Yeah the camera is annoying as all hell but i got used to it, the story is pretty meh. Im not even following it im just playing the game to keep myself entertained until a a better games comes out. or until i get crysis 2
