Hello, can anybody advise me on new games to purchase that will work on my laptop.

I'm looking for newish games and very surprisingly even though Just Cause 2 did not work or Sniper ghost warrior didn't, Skyrim did, on very low graphics, all programs closed and game booster running, I was very impressed. But now I'm looking for a new game and I doubt I am going to be as lucky as I was before. Any help would be very appreciated.

Can You RUN It | Can I run that game | Game system requirements has not tended to work as games that do work say the wont and vice versa.

Here and my system specifications.

THIS link quotes someone as saying some of the latest games will work, but turned down to low settings. I would expect that you should be able to play games that are 3+ years old pretty easily mate, maybe try downloading some steam demos to see how they run :) they're free after all!

I think you'll be surprised what those chips can handle, Fallout New Vegas would run well for sure and other games from that sort of time or before I reckon.

Little tip, make sure you're graphics drivers are up to date, they can make a huge difference to game performance. Also bear in mind that integrated GPUs use system RAM for memory, so you must deduct the amount of RAM your GPU uses to find the amount you have left for the rest of the system to use while gaming. But seeing that you have 4Gb of it then I doubt your RAM will bottleneck your system given the other components you have.

Good luck with everything mate.

PS another thought, Source engine games tend to work quite smoothly on lower-spec systems as Valve actaully bothered to make the engine properly scalable, so maybe try Portal or Half-Life 2 (Eps 1 and 2 included). You can find all of the Orange Box games on Steam.

Looking for newer games might be a bit harder, and as most people don't play them on Intel HD GPUs. You might get away with playing any newer game on it with very low settings. You might see if there is a demo to the game you can download first to see how it works with your computer.

I've played the first neverwinter nights on a cheap Win7 computer and it works well, and the game is really fun. You might see if there are older games that are still fun to play that you might enjoy.

You might try the mass effect series (1-3) and see if it will play for you. Most any suggestion will just be a guess though.

I'd suggest that you'd look for old games. Old games aren't lesser than the newer ones, you won't get to enjoy the newer one's graphics either, so I'd say stick to old games, try Max Payne, Red Alert, or Commandos...

the hd3000 gfx found on modern intel laptops is much much much more powerful than the previous generation of integrated intel gfx chips.

click here and scroll down the page a bit to see some benchmark figures for modern games, on low, med and high settings (where applicable).

do note that the cpu speed does have some effect on frame rate too...

i'm personally interested in this topic too, as i've recently ordered a little i3 laptop and received an email this morning telling me it's been shipped. :)

I will share my personal experience with integrated Intel HD graphics card. When my laptop was shipped i had 3 GB RAM and well even playing COD:Modern warfare was jerky and super slow.

Then i upgraded RAM to 6 GB and to be honest i can play all relatively new games for eg: COD:Modern warfare 2 & 3,Skyrim at low settings and older games like Halo 2,NFS at low to meduim settings with ease.

I would suggest upgrading RAM to atleast 6 GB in laptops with Intel HD graphics to play new games.
