So, you:
had MSE lock up during a scan
restarted the computer
downloaded AVAST
uninstalled MSE
restarted the computer
installed AVAST
scanned - removed some stuff via AVAST
uninstalled AVAST
restarted the computer
installed MSE
scanned - removed more stuff via MSE

It seems odd that MSE would find stuff during that last scan. You might want to scan using WDO.


As far as the slow browsing, Do the same websites come in slow when using Internet Explorer or Chrome?

After MSE was in the middle of a scan it stopped halfway through so i tried to cancel it then it showed files quarantined then when clicking on remove my computer froze so i restarted and clicked back on it to try removing again that worked and uninstalled and installed avast It seems to be running better after removing files from avast

I hope you did the custom/advanced Avast install That way, you choose the modules/services you want and/or need.
