What is a web page crash?

Hello,

I would like to know, if someone can please explain, what is a web page crash?

What results in the browser displaying the "site has crashed" notification?

Id like to know so I can understand it further and troubleshoot and diagnose it myself. Search engines haven't been too fruitful on the subject.

Hi,
A website crashing would be rare more likely your browser is crashing for many possibilities
If all browsers show that then your system is probably the problem most likely Security or browser add-on related.
Post a link to the crashing website so we might confirm.

Ok, thanks for replying. What I mean is when you are loading a web page, or just using it even, and suddenly you get an error page out of nowhere. For any website. The "Aw, snap" error on google chrome, says: "Something went wrong while displaying this webpage. Closing apps and tabs that you don't need may help by making more memory available." But often I don't have many tabs open, and the memory is like 75% or lower. This sometimes starts happening many times in a row for seemingly random actions. So I would just like to know, in technical terms, what makes the browser say "Aw Snap", because sometimes I have to reload a web page almost 10 times get the Aw Snap from happening and the page to fully load and work correctly.

An important note, I have upgraded my memory from 2GB, adding 2 additional GB, but, task manager never shows anything above 2.5 Maybe the CPU just can't handle it anymore, the laptop's 8 years old now.

Well first of all lets see something if you wouldn't mind,
Click Start button and type in the search box
system information
And hit the enter key or click on the suggestion

On the System type line what does it say x64 or x86 ?

Aw Snap well that is the same as Internet explorer's Stopped working message just in ghetto language

It means you have a utility or browser extension that is acting up or you're just running out of resources
75% ram usage would be the first sign Chrome is too much for your machine and Chrome has always used way to much memory/ cpu usage to function.

What version of Chrome are you using? Can you cause the same problem with another browser like IE or FF? I've been having multiple issues with IE11 throwing up the "stopped working" error with a web site and it works perfectly in FF v41.

I start with basics.
With your specs and using Chrome with many tabs open you will run out of ram in a heart beat. 2 gb don't go far.
On this computer now with just one page of the Seven forum I'm using 1.8 gb and I run a clean and mean computer. It's really not a problem on my old grandpa computer because I have 12 gig's.
If I had 2 gigs, now I would have a problem.

2gb has to be 32 bit should of never downloaded Chrome in the first place.

It's maddening how much of a resource hog browsers are becoming not sure if any are any different now days but Chrome is off the charts.
