Overclocking is basically the art of running computer components faster than the rated settings. In other words, having a 2GHz processor run at 2.4GHz (or whatever). Can apply to all components, but is generally applied principally to CPUs and RAM. For more information, refer to the posts/threads in this sub-forum.

Overclocking can also be done to GPUs to increase framerate/performance in games that are graphically demanding. If you don't know what you're doing and you plan on OC'ing, make sure to ask for help first to avoid frying any of your hardware. The SAFEST overclocking is done with thorough research.

Overclocking or OC'. Is to basically squize more from your stock manufacture speed. You can oc a 2.5ghz cpu to run at 3.1ghz. Overclocking takes time unless you know what ypur doing and overclocking any of your hardware as a result your warranty is void. So somethings to think about before doing the doo. More voltage put on a cpu or vga cards more heat produces. You will need a good cooling system rather thans stock cooling.

Tips: do some research before doing your own oc. Never copy anyone else oc specs through vids. All systems are different unless you have the same specs. Thanks any questions ask away.

Actually all systems with the same specs are different as well. Each individual CPU, even if from the same batch as another, will not necessarily overclock as well or with the same settings.

GPU stands for Graphics Processing Unit, which is the brains of a graphics card in much the same sense as the CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the brains of the whole computer.
