What is x:(boot) drive?

Even if I've uninstalled 7 it's still there.is the uninstallation incomplete?

You are not meant to see the System Reserve partition and it has not drive letters assigned to it. He must be talking about something else.

If you don't intend to use bitlocker, you can remove the partition in computer management

No,I can't see the partition in xp setup,xp,or third party software.but when I load the Norton Ghost Environment,it has the win7 font and background.
The Ghost shows 3 local disk,a dvd,and a x: (boot).It seems it's not just loaded into the ram.Should be somewhere in my hdd.
So I feel confused.

I think this small allocated parition is a built-in feature of the HDD. Been only small, it could be used to store drivers pertaining to the HDD. i see this little partition from my seagate USB HDD. You don't need it and it's annoying. I don't know if you can merge this space to your main storage, maybe partition magic or something like that can do it.

Partition Magic is not compatible with nt6 partitioning rules. Avoid.

DD has problems with 7 from numerous reprts.

Partition Wizard, although free, is excellent and fully compatible with 7.

hmm to run these tool, you need to do it in DOS, BartPE or similar environments. I have never tried using these tools running inside an active OS.

Partition Wizard is great,I've used it for several times.
And I think the x: (boot) is already a PE?
I don't know about Paragon,and I use Ghost to backup,it has the option to select only one partition.

The reason I asked is because if the computer is a Dell, that small partition is the Hardware Diagnostics partition that can be booted with the F12 boot menu. A very handy set of hardwar diagnostics utilities.
