Hello, new user here.

What key do I use to install Office 2007, or where do I download it?

I just completed the clean install in this tutorial below.
I needed to install MS Office 2007 so I could get back to work. I went to the MS Office download site, entered the key I thought I was supposed to use, and tried to download. However, it didn't recognize the key (the key from the COA sticker on the bottom of the laptop). I tried the OEM key that Belarc Advisor showed, but it didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It sounds to me like you're trying to use the Windows 7 Product Key. You need one for Office 2007.

Yes, I agree. That's what I'm asking .... where is it?

I realize now I mis-read a couple of posts in the tutorial that mentioned Office. I thought they referred to using the COA key to re-install Office, but instead they referred to the Office key.

I guess I should be asking, "where was it?" since I've already completed the install. I did both a backup image and a copy of my hard drive though, if there's any way to go back and get it.

I don't know, but I guess it could be in with the literature, documents and manuals that came with the computer, if any.

Did you have Office 2007 installed and fully activated before? If so, then who activated it?

If you purchased Microsoft Office online from Microsoft Store or a third party store as a digital download, you should have received an email with the product key. If you bought it as DVD from a store, the product key can be found in the packaging of the Office.

If you got Microsoft Office with your computer pre-installed, you should check the documentation and packages you got together with the PC to find your product key.

Silly me!

I had it stuck in my head that Office was pre-installed on my laptop with Win 7. But as I was digging for the laptop docs, I found where I had purchased it online. So to make a long story short, I found the key and now have it installed.

Thanks for your help, and apologies for my goof.

Oh good! I'm glad that you figured it out!

Also, I accept the apology but I don't think it's needed because look at the result! We did well (meaning, you and us together as a team).
