What security setup do you have?

Using NIS? I was using it before some time, and it's great. ;)

Oops! I just came home, turned on my laptop and did not see the NIS 2011 icon in sys tray. So I tried to open NIS and got an error, uistub.exe file corrupted, please run chkdsk. Next step, ran the Norton Removal Tool and restarted the PC. Installed MSE. All is good now. :)

Running more than one AV at a time might cause conflicts and BSODs. Keep MSE+MBAM

Running two AV's is not good,as Yowan said.
Not all antivirus programs works together.Deffinitions from one av,the other one can thread them as virus.

But i read somewhere i think in this very forum that MSE and Avast are compatible with each other and both run fine on my laptop.Even on avast website its advertised that latest version of avast is fully compatible with MSE.

As StarkeR has stated; I agree. It also uses up a lot of systems resources when you run 2 at the same time.

Wow! Do you actually manage to get any work done?

well if you mean system stability and ferformance then i must say this setup is petty light on resource. Avast is real time and its one of the lightest AV available today. Also no AV can give 100% protection so layered approach is generally advised in all the forum (even here). Which include to have some ondemand antimalware scanner. MBAM is ondemand so does not take resource at all and is right now best antimalware scanner available today. Hitman pro is standalone program does not require installation. Running the browser sandboxed is very safe because incase my browser get infected by some malware code still my system remains safe. Windows firewall is not that great and its outbound protection is turned off by default and is not easy to configure so i need a firewall so that i can monitor outbount connection because if your system gets infected malware usually try to send your data. Winpatrol is a nice little program which monitors windows in real time and stop any system modification which malware usually do. And also i use secunia psi to keep all my app and OS up to date. I am only testing prevex from few days and now i think i don't need it i will remove it soon

I have not faced any slowdown with is setup but still i would like some overviews from other about this setup. Can you specify which app i don't need

Regards
