What version should I choose?

Hi there I'm using Windows 7 Professional 32 bit,and I wanna know what version of windows 7 will run better on my PC( 32 bit or 64?)
My specs are:
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core processor 4400,2,3 GHz
2GB RAM DDR2 667MHz
ATI Radeon 2400HD
160GB HDD

Since you currently only have 2GB of RAM, I would just stick with the 32-bit Windows 7. You really will not have much need for 64-bit Windows 7 unless you upgrade to over 3.5 GB RAM.

If you have bought a retail Window 7, then it comes with both a 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 installation DVD that you can use later if you decide to.

Since the minimum amount of RAM needed below is 2GB for 64-bit Windows 7, you would most likely notice it running a bit slower than using the 32-bit Windows 7. I would recommend to have at least 4GB for either one for better performance, but especially with 64-bit Windows 7.

1 GB RAM for 32-bit Windows 7
2 GB RAM for 64-bit Windows 7

Memory is so inexpensive now. I would have looked it up for you, but you just listed Asus, and not your model, for your mobo (which is my favorite mobo). Install 64-bit and buy the memory. I just mentioned in another post CS5 only has a 64-bit for Adobe Premier. This is a foreshadowing of things to come.

Trust me,everything in Romania is expensive.
A gig of RAM here cost 2 or4 time than in the rest of the europe. and the sallary aren't big.

An operating system will not damage hardware. But I certainly understand the issue of pricing. If you are not able to afford more memory, then perhaps the 32-bit option is your best choice.

Honestly, you wouldn't really notice a difference between the two platforms. I would say you'd be fine with either, and to leave x86 installed for now. However, if you plan to upgrade the memory in this computer soon, switch to x64, so you can just drop the memory in and be using it all right off the bat.

Meh... You don't need 64 unless you really want more memory and can afford to make use of the memory. If you are happy with 32 bit and can only afford 2 gigs of Ram, stick with 32 bit. As many have said here, you don't gain much unless you have actual programs that would take advantage of a 64 bit OS and you loaded down with more memory.
