.... I never used it - but I love Vista. That is the ultimate Geek OS.

It would have to be Windows 98, always had problems with it,
Also the Mac OS X (I think they called it Tiger)

While I was doing some video editing on it, it froze and locked, causing me to loose everything..

Let's just say it wasn't a good start with the Mac...

Nothing big was added in except for the snap in feature (google it)...some GUI changes and a few modifications which make it a bit more stable and features such as XP mode were added.

This is why I would occasionally joke about W7 being an above top-secret version of MS's old Mojave Experiment. You know, the part where they disguise Vista into another OS?

Actually i've never had any of those experiences. I've used Win 98, Win XP and now Win7 so... But my ex GF used Vista and i do actually say Vista

Windows 7 is interesting because in essence, it's not so much one major tweak but a bunch of minor tweaks here and there. However, all those minor tweaks add up to improve performance and make it lighter than Vista, especially on weaker hardware. On Vista, a P4 3.0 Ghz CPU with 1 GB of RAM almost cringes yet with 7, it hums along.

Lots have complained about WinME but I never had any problems with it. I believe they pushed it out while they finalised XP and it was the first time we saw the System Restore feature which was a very good addition and was improved upon in all following OS's.

I don't in all honesty have any bad experiences with the ones I've had, 98, WinME, XP Home, Vista and 7

windows ME for me was ok, actually! It got pig slow towards the end of it's life, but other than that if you treated it carefully it was a relatively alright OS.

For me, it has to be puppy linux; ugly, difficult to get working on non standard hardware, etc etc. Although the same is true for lots of 'lightweight' linux distros. ArchLinux is a close second, it refused to recognise my motherboard, and its helpfiles were of little to no use, lol. (I am by no means a beginner linux user either!!)

Some were MS, some were not.

Never had much trouble with Vista either.

I always thought the first edition of Windows 98 (not SE) was the worst OS. ME followed a close second. Followed by Vista. I've never owned Vista, and I doubt I ever will. I now use Windows 7.

I've used Windows 3.11, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows XP, and Windows 7. I have to say Windows 7 is the best one so far, closely followed by Windows XP and Windows ME.

Absolutely how I feel.

I never actually used Vista on my "main" machine; hated it when I had to use it on someone else's rig. To be fair, I think some of the reason it was not well received was due to the UAC stuff. By the time Win7 rolled around a lot of people were used to it so it didn't seem like as much of a nuisance.
