A post in a thread by 7dreams, got me to thinking, what would you like to see in a service pack when 7 gets a service pack, or possibly 8?

From a personal experience i'd like to see the following:
The one thing that Apple have, which I'd love to see implemented on PC's is the 'target disk mode' - for those of you that don't know, you connect your macs together with firewire cable, and hold down the 't' key on bootup on one of them. It's now in target disk mode.

On the other machine, it mounts as a separate drive. :)

My partner had a situation where she works with a large laptop, and bought a netbook for travel, where she just needed internet / email / word without the weight or size. It would have been ideal to just drop her users folder with docs and pst file etc, into the netbook before she left, or automatically sync'd allowing her to have a carbon copy of what she'd just turned off on the desktop.

Also, desktop mounting of usb drives and volumes, so that it can give a quick visual link to the volume, rather than having to go into explorer.

A really comprehensive revision of the disk management application which would allow you to create and mount ISO's and the like - eliminating the need for daemon tools et al.

More Aero options to compliment flip and 3d. Tiles? so that all open windows fit on screen and are just a click away?

Also if Disk images in backup could image only the size of the data image rather than referencing the physical size of the volume - I recently had to recover from an image but wanted it on one drive - even though the image data was only 140gb, It remembered that the original disc array was 598gb, thus wanted an equivalent drive or larger to install on.

better performance; less memory usage, less cpu usage.
undertand that this pc is antique and turn off the shiny programs.
inform the user when somthing adds itself to "startups"
reset button in calculator
up button in windows explorer (or smart adress bar in ftp)
ftp logo in ftp (7 shows it only when you are in main dir)
ability to set a default program for files that have not suffix or the the name of the file is suffix such as ".htaccess"
xp style control panel and desktop's configurations
i do not know how it is called but it was there in xp; PC is closing and when you start it XP continues to work from where you wast last time. Not the "Sleep" in 7, the lights of my PC are flashing like in a disko.
when i search somthing and you find out that it is not there in fact you have not indexed it, do not say me that it is not there but say me "i have not indexed evrything yet, coul i scan the computer master?"
remove unnecesarry registery stuffs

and by the way why they want Windows Media Player to be removed? because of unfair competition? Then they have to want a edition called NC; Not with Calculator.there are many other calculators isn't it?

I want to see RDP back in the "Home" versions of Windows. In this day and age with most homes running multiple computers there really isn't any justification for requiring the Pro version to use RDP. Especially as it is needed to get full use of the Windows Home Server. Note windows "HOME" server.

A setting that keeps the calculator on top of other windows when needed. This is a really annoying issue that is probably easily solved and I can't imagine why it still works this way.
