I am saving my money for a macbook pro.

Somebody has told me that the graphics card that comes with it "NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics" was better than the graphics card i currently have the "NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT" How is this possible? I have seen it with my own eyes people playing Crysis on a macbook pro on high settings, but i thought that the higher that last 3 numbers the better the card? Like the 6 represents the series and the 400 would be how good the performance is.

Also i know this is the wrong forums for this second question but i've been told that intel processors are a lot better, and that the "Intel® Core™2 Duo mobile processor
With 1066MHz frontside bus, 3MB shared L2 cache and 2.26GHz processor speed." was better than my current "AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3GHz proccessor"

If anybody could answer any of these questions it would be greatly appreciated :D

You're comparing desktop and mobile technologies??

MacBooks are equipped with a GeForce 9400M (there's no such thing as a 6400n) that has fewer pipelines & uses shared memory as opposed to the higher number pipelines & dedicated memory of the desktop 8600 GT card. nVidia's nomenclature can confuse the most die-hard fans, so you aren't alone. Anyhow, your card's performance should be a lot better assuming the other components in your current system aren't a bottleneck.

I'm guessing you're referring to a Core2Duo P7550. The performance should be roughly equal to your current processor in most CPU-oriented tasks. However, the mobile processor consumes far less power than your desktop processor (pretty obvious!).

i currently cannot play crysis even on MEDIUM with my amd processor i states before, and my GeForce 8600 GT. but i've seen people play it stock parts and settings on the macbook pro. :(

so are you saying a better power supply would allow me to get better performance with my computer?
