You aren't likely to get a clear answer to this one. It all depends upon what you are trying to accomplish and what your goals are.

Some will insist of full towers, others need/want smaller cases. Some people love windows and lights, and others don't care for them at all.

Generally speaking, there are lots of recommendations on this forum for
Antec
CoolerMaster
Corsair Obsidian 800

Another brand that I would recommend is Lian Li. I only have one case by them (this is the first computer I've assembled for a while) but my friend who builds computers more regularly swears by the brand and I can say I was impressed with the case that I got.

You can't go wrong with any of the brands mentioned.
I did loads of research before choosing a case when I decided to do my first (and only so far) build.
I chose a Cooler Master ACTS 840 (see "show us your rig" page 83) which has a motherboard tray which slides right out of the case on roller bearings.
This made it a lot easier to work on.
I discovered this fact on youtube.
If you spot a case by one of the above brands you like the look of check - model name -build- on youtube.
Loads of people put up video reviews of their own builds in particular cases. I found it invaluable and actually wrote down the steps one guy went through to help me.

cheers, j:)
