When will you get Windows 7 RTM?

Microsoft store told me at 9:00am 10-22-09 that the order I placed June 26th "was just approved 5 days ago" and because I didn't pay extra for over night shipping that my order is not a priority to Microsoft. They said that it should (but not necessarily will) ship in the next few days. Guess I might get it sometime next week or the week after.

I definitely will NOT be doing business with the Microsoft store anymore in the future.

According to the Microsoft store telephone rep they "don't know where I heard that people were already receiving their copies but they wanted to assure me that this was not true and that it wasn't available anywhere in the world until today....huh". Claimed to never have heard of SevenForums either.

Guess these people live on a different planet than the rest of us.

As of 4:00pm 10-22-09 Redmond time:
No action on my order yet.

As of 6:00am 10-23-09 Redmond time:
Email stating they are shipping on time, and that due to heavy volume my shipping conformation email was delayed. I guess I won't have to cancel my
order and go to Best Buy after all.

As of 01:00am 10-24-09 Redmond time:
Still no change on my order at Microsoft store and no debit against my bank acct.

As of 01:30am 10-24-09 Redmond time:
Order changed to Shipped at Microsoft store, no debit against my bank account, tracking info states "billing info received from shipper".

As of 21:40pm 10-24-09 Redmond time:
Email from Microsoft store claims shipped, tracking info still states "Billing info received from shipper" (Further states that package has NOT been received for shipping yet), no debit against my bank acct. Microsoft states shipped with UPS ground (3-7 days) so maybe the end of next week or the following week.

As of 19:25pm 10-25-09 Redmond time:
Microsoft store claims shipped, UPS tracking info still states "Billing info received from shipper" (Further states that package has NOT been received for shipping yet), no debit against my bank acct. Microsoft states shipped with UPS ground (3-7 days) so maybe the end of this week or the next week.

As of 18:00pm 10-26-09 Redmond time:
Finally arrived. Activated my laptop upgrade install.

I ordered mine from the Microsoft Store in June too and it still says

Order Status: Processing

Thats the last time I ever order from them.

If something doesn't happen by tomorrow morning I'm canceling.

We can always go to Best Buy and purchase the "Family Pack" for less than Microsoft is charging for 3 copies + Shipping and there is the added bonus that it is in stock and you can take it with you when you leave.

This kind of behavior does NOT lead me to have any confidence in the Microsoft store in Scottsdale or any other brick and mortar store that they build. It is now a not so funny joke that the head of the Microsoft store division was at the opening stating that "Customer service is our first priority"....yah....right....ok.....what planet are YOU living on.

Well, I've been on hold for over 45 min so far. I want someone to tell me why an order placed 4 months ago is still being "processed"

Well, after an hour I finally got to speak with someone. I was told my order was cleared on the 17th, processed and has actually shipped. He said I should get it in 24/48 hours (I'm in California)

I asked why I have not received an email and why it still showed as "Processing", he said his system was more up to date than the page they have on line.

I will let you know when I receive it.

Mine was deducted from the bank on the 19th, so hopefully it has shipped, but also says processing. Hopefully they will respond to the email..

Well, after 45 minutes on hold we go through and then it disconnected, then we tried again and the phone ran out of charge after another 45 minutes. So much for as soon as 22nd comes your key will be available! MS could not organise a chook raffle.

Got a email response overnight saying that the website and email responses are running behind. Also said my order was shipped on the 22nd.

Update: as of 01:00am 10-24-09 Redmond time No update to Microsoft store online acct. and no debit to my bank acct. despite the email that arrived over 17 hrs ago.

Yay! I was passing my local sorting office today and decided to pop in as i missed my delivery yesterday...they still had it there as i was worried about the postal strikes if it had even got back there. Going to install tomorrow

Seems my beta-tester Ultimate RTM will have a buddy beyond March..
