Where did my DTS go?

Hi:

I've been trying to figure this one out for a few weeks now. This is ridiculous.

PROBLEM: Cannot play a mt2s file with DTS audio

DESCRIPTION: When I first installed 7, I swear I had WMP playing .mt2s with DTS without any difficulty. I could be wrong, but I feel as if an update came along and wiped out the ability of WMP to recognize the DTS track embedded in a .mt2s. My other thought is that I loaded media software that somehow impaired WMP (if so, this happened right around the time I loaded up VLC player; but I realize that this may not make sense, as VLC is very versatile).

As an example, I recently ripped my Blu-Ray of 2012 onto my HDD. Although the video plays fine, the audio jumps to the AC-3 track, which happens to be some kind of audio commentary.

Now, if I analyze the file with MediaInfo, it tells me that there are 2 video streams, 5 audio streams, and 6 texts streams. Furthermore, I can see that the first audio stream is the English DTS stream that represents audio for the feature. In addition, if I play the file using Media Player Classic - Home Cinema, it correctly picks the correct audio stream (the DTS stream).

Question:
1. Why won't WMP 12 play the DTS track?

I have installed codec packages such as Shark 007 and even AC3 filter, but they have not been effective (they were installed at different times, in order to avoid conflict)

2. How can I enable WMP 12 to play mt2s with DTS audio?

I am a moderately skilled user, but none of this is making any sense to me. I am at the point of pulling out my hair, or simply reinstalling windows 7. Like I said above, I could swear that once upon a time, this was actually working (but I could be wrong).

And yes, I do realize that I could simply make MPC - HC my default player, but that's not what I am asking. Reason being, is that right about the time I started having problems, I noticed that I also lost the ability to stream mt2s with DTS to my PS3. For example, when I stream a movie with Windows Media Center to my PS3, if it is a mt2s with DTS, although the video is flawless, there is no audio stream at all. When I look at the stream information using the PS3, the video stream appears strong, but there is no DTS audio.

If I play a mt2s with mutiple audio tracks, the PS3 will default to the next track. For example, if I stream 2012 to my PS3, the video looks great, but the audio defaults to that annoying commentary track instead of the feature audio.

Sometimes, I can get around this by using PS3 MediaServer, but again, my question is how to make WMP natively support DTS in an mt2s.

If you have the Shark007 codecs installed, on the SWAP TAB, choose to disable Windows Media Foundation. If it still is not correct, on the MPG~MP4 TAB, select to use the blu-ray splitter.

Thanks for the tip.
I executed your suggestion, and I am now able to play DTS again. However, for some reason, streaming from PS3 Media Server has been affected such that mt2s files have serious A/V sync issues. This may be a consequence of some other obscure setting that I changed, but hopefully I'll be able to eventually pin it down.

BTW, do you have a user guide of some sort for Shark007? I looked but did not see one.
