Where do I locate the ToushPad settings?

Probably stop by the Hp forum next, but I got windows 7 so I stop here first. I currently use an HP EliteBook 8730w.

When I go to the search option and type in touch I see the device manager listed, and when I click on it I see the mouse and other pointing devices listed, but no touch pad listing. That is the only place I have checked.

Go to control panel, click on Mouse, in the mouse properties, if the correct driver is installed you should see a device settings (or something similar) tab. Click on that and explore. Also check the other tabs. If you dont find anything to adjust advanced touchpad properties like scroll, sensitivity etc., go to the HP support page, enter your model no. and from the drivers page, download the correct touchpad driver.

Well the way to get to a mouse option is not the way you say. I get to it by Control Panel-->Hardware and Sound-->Devices and Printers(4th option over)-->Mouse.....Once I am in mouse properties, then I have rifled through everything and see no touch pad options. How do I know if I have the correct drivers? And how would my touch pad work perfectly, but have no options to mess with them?

Be careful if you go to the HP site to get the local one, not the default which is US, or it may not recognize you model number.

How you reach mouse properties depends on what view the control panel is set to. In control panel, click on the link under "View by" at the top right- if, like mine, yours is set to "small icons", you proceed the way I described it earlier. OTOH, if it is set to "Category", then you proceed the way you described. Either way the end result is the same.

Right on both accounts. The option has now appeared, and I am very happy. But a little disappointed. The touchpad is actually rather nice and was hoping that there would be a quick option so every time I unplugged my mouse that it would enable. But regardless I thank you sir.
