I work for 3M Touch Systems developing gesture software and multi-touch controller firmware specializing in 7 compatability. it's fun as a matter of fact.

It all depends on your intended definition of "lying".

I really doubt there is anyone over 1 year old who has NEVER, EVER knowingly told a misrepresentation of the actual facts. But that is very different from doing so in a routine manner, and even more different if it is done to misdirect influence and benefit.

When acosted by "Hello, can you please give to the blah-blah fund for higher chipmunk education?" someone answers "I already gave at the office", this I do not consider a lie, just a polite brush-off. Doing so from time to time because what you do it's none of the second party's business is part of life and fine by me.

If someone says "I am taking care of you because I love you" when in reality they just want be able to demand favors back, that is lying and just plain bad.

Of course there's all those grey in-betweens :sarc: ...

PS - just to clarify in my first example, I was assuming they didn't really give a rat's a$$ about chipmunk education ...

My job takes me away from home, 2 weeks at the time. Good thing is, i get 1 week off each time too. 2 & 1 roster.
I work in open cut mining as either an all round operator or mining supervisor.

As the work is contract based, i get to see a lot of our great state of Western Australia. Our contract at the moment is in the Tanami desert, at a small gold mine.

I am 62, going on 18. Wife always tells everyone she has 3 kids. One 33, one 31 and one 62.

We play around with computers as a bit of a hobby and of necessity to do accounts, etc.

I work for a natural gas company, I test natural gas using Chromatography to break it down into Mol% and then assign the BTU. We then compare the sample to history of the gas well and report any changes to the owning company. I am really a gloified lab tech/chemistry nerd
