Hello,

Which .DLL file contains this icon?

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Mouse

I have checked in the usual places such as "imagres.dll", "shell32.dll" and a few others but the only mouse icons I have found do not contain the blue buttons indicating which is primary so I know they are not the correct one.

Helpful, although not what I was looking for. The image in question is actually a bitmap. For anyone else that may be interested, I received a tip from another source and it's actually located in "main.cpl".

That article will come in handy for the future though.

The file main.cpl is a system32 file and removal of any system file can cause a broken Windows installation as you found in your previous thread. My advice is if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Just out of interest why do you want to change the mouse icon?

Removing all blue buttons from top right corner of windows - Windows 7 Help Forums

Deleting the blue question mark icon outright from the "imageres.dll" file causes breakage.

Although I agree it's a bad idea to mess around with system files, I would suggest that you look in the mouse driver files for the icon used for mouse functions, that one looks like one specific to a Microsoft Intellimouse - the Blue is afterall Microsoft's highlight colour

Sure, if you take what I said out of context.

That "issue" was easily reversed by replacing the icon back in the .dll file. Or simpy by making a backup and placing it back into the "system32" folder.

I will kindly ask that if you can't answer my question, you save yourself the time in stating the obvious. I'm well aware of the "risk".

I already found and replaced the image. As was already stated, it's a bitmap located in the "main.cpl" file.
