Which iphone??

Having no knowledge of iPhones I am not sure what to look for 3s or 4s or whatever. I don't want anything outrageously expensive just something I can download music and use as an alternative to my Samsung Galaxy Ace.

My partner has one that she can access the net with and it costs her very little as opposed to the Samsung being extremely expensive to have any data capabilities.

Well.. i personaly use and iPad from school and im having a galaxy s2 as my main phone. I am so annoyed with my iPad becouse of the lack of functions. If you want to listen to music the S2 can be an EXTREMELY good phone for you. It has a 1.2Ghz dual core cpu instead of the Iphone 4 : 800Mhz and Iphone 4s : 800Mhz dual core.
The screen is bigger and more high resolution and the s2 costs very little.
So i would recommend getting a S2 plus
and then buying a phone subscribtion that you like. it will probably be cheaper than most stuff becouse to be honest. iPhones are expensive as h..
Try looking into android a bit more. The ace is pure crap to say the least. Cheap android phone's are nothing to have. But the ones with a bit more horsepower is amazing.

I have owned my s2 in nearly a year now. i listen to music many hours a day with powerful headphones and i can have a special app that gives more power to them, has an amazing equlaizer and starts playing directly when i plug the headphones in.

also there are more free apps on the play store due to that its nearly free to upload apps to play store and they dont have as strict rules. Though on the appstore its very very expensive to develop apps and apple has to approve your app otherwise it will be removed. and that makes appstore have A TON of costing apps.

Watch some videos on android becouse it need a bit of time and knowledge to get used to but if you can use it and know the operating system you will love it. Also the s2 has Android 4.1 while the ace has Android 2.3 wich. yeah that android version is garbage..

Really sorry for late reply sisrace and thanks for such comprehensive information. I only bought the Ace because of cost really and when I found out about the cost of data download it came as a bit of a shock so basically it is just my phone although it is better than the old Samsung even if it is just the camera.

I am not a great phone used in general but shall look into some of the things you have said in your post.

I have a iphone 4 and it's pretty good I suppose most likely pretty cheap now days if not free with a contract,
I've heard the 4s is a bit buggy.
I'm contemplating a 5 but still thinking about it,

Hum I did think about the iPhones when I first decided to upgrade my old phone as my partner and son have them but I ma not real keen on Apple stuff to be honest.

No. if you have used an android phone. You are better of getting an android for about the same prize as an iphone 4-4s
If you are a bit techy then the specs on most androids are better and the android operating system has way more potential. One guy is controlling his whole house with just his voice. " HE unlocks his door! "

That guy is an extreme poweruser of androids. Check some of his videos out and you will se where androids shine!

Go android ICit2lol, I use a HTC android and very happy with it, 1/2 the price of an iphone is paying for the apple name and there the size of a house brick .. ugly :shock:

Yes, But dont judge android becouse of a phone like the ace becouse on thoose phones there isnt much to offer. Its when you get to the multicore ghz phones where android really shines!

Now there is another thing. What phone? LG, HTC, SAMSUNG, SONY, NEXUS? Well there. Its just for you to decide. All different companies have their own android looks,
If you are used to the ace then you may want a samsung phone becouse they are more like each other.
Nexus has the original android and usally gets the latests and coolest android features due to that the nexus phones are really googles own phone and we all know android is from google.
HTC, SONY and LG has their own looks and features in android. I recomend you looking on all of the companies android and see wich one you like the most.
Android is more like an home built pc. You choose it for your own private preferences. Everyone is different and doesent always want what everyone else wants. Thats.. Why i dont have an iPhone

I had a Samsung Galaxy S, Android phone before, and it came preloaded with garbage that I didn't want or use but I could not get rid of it. The Samsung would lock up frequently and I would have to remove the battery to reset it.

Most of my friends either have an iPhone or wish they did.

Hi. Yeah the older versions of android was complete garbage i know. But since android 4.1 it has been amazing and my stupid iPad has destroyed SO many hours of work and has crashed almost every game i've played. My freinds iPad is also as bad. I got an iPad 4 he got an iPad 3.
My phone has never crashed like that! not even once. Android 4.1 is extremely stable, Good looking and snappy.
Im my school two of my freinds have iPhones, One has an iPhone 5 and one has an iPhone 4s. Both wish they had gotten an android instead and same at my fathers work he got an S4 instead of an iPhone 4s that everyone else choosed to get. But more than half wish they had thought again on getting the iPhone after seeing what the Galaxy S4 is capable of

its not samsung that cause you to have expensive data rates! thats your carrier!!

a quick glance at my date usage for this month and its currently at 112Gb of 3g mobile data =D which has cost me... £0.00 well other than my monthly bill.

ive had 5 iphones.. 4 were in the space of 1 month.. wouldnt go back if you paid me now!!

im not biased, ive had about every brand of phone on every OS around. and apple/iphone is too locked down, too safe, and just too generic. I currently have an S4 and love it, so much that im not getting an S5.. which is odd as im a weirdo who like to get every new version of a phone on release!!

Thanks for the review of 4s I kind of doubted the person I talked with but had nothing to go with to compare
I don't mind the safety and locked down part,
It's primarily a phone and email access point and nothing else besides a quick search dooda,
Never watched a video on it besides a music video which it looked good
People get a bit touchy on what devices they use,
I got mine because it was the one I liked at the time and cost 49.99 I didn't care about anything alse other than safety and functionality of the touch screen

If you are watching internet videos etc. Go android. Their phones are 16:9 1920x1080p instead of the 4s whatever it is. And the youtube app on android plays full hd but the iphones you have to set it on hd every time if you want it
