No they would not be the same.
The i7-4820k ARK | Intel® Core has hyperthreading(# of Cores 4 # of Threads 8)
will render faster then the i5-2500 ARK | Intel® Core (# of Cores 4 # of Threads 4)
It still down to what you can afford. The cheapest will work but slower.

Make sure your motherboard socket will take the new processor these 2 have different sockets.
