Since reluctantly making the move to a new Win10 PC. I now own 2 Dell Inspirons withe Win7 Pro (2012) and Win 7 Home Premium (2014)... Which OS should I keep for time being?

What do you intend to do with the one you don't 'keep'? Upgrade to W10 or dispose of it?

Do you use the Media Center or play DVDs in the Windows Media Player? Those features would be removed by upgrading to W10. Both your W7 Home Premium and W7 Pro should have those, but if only one has a DVD drive I'd keep that one.

I also have W7 Pro on my System Two, and several W7 Hyper-V VMs. My other machines run Windows 10/11. Their specs are in my Ten Forums & Eleven Forum profiles.

Win 7 HP and Pro are almost the same.
Pro has the feature to set Group Policies that can restrict the users access to some hardware etc.
In other words, Pro has same features than HP and some others that HP doesn't.

Keep the Win 7 Pro.

One other thing, and this influenced my choice to get a Pro key rather than just image my current Home Premium drive for my new machine: if you're planning on upgrading the RAM on the old machine to make it run better, Home Premium caps out at recognizing 8GB. So if you intend to put in any more (or just want to leave the option open), you're going to need Pro.

Serves me right for only doing quick research on it, then. But I was using 32GB anyway, so looks like I still needed Pro. For the OP, maybe not so much. :p

Agree it makes sense to keep the higher edition.
