Which Torrent Software do you use?

Personally, I don't see the point. Anything you can get legally from torrents can be found from the official websites for free as well, and downloads much faster. Plus you know 100% sure what the source is.
But thats just me.

as far as downloading linux distros goes, torrents are ridiculously faster than their servers.

And you can check the MD5 hash or whatever with the one from their site to be sure it's genuine (and heck the site gives you the torrent for that file, you don't have to go hunting it down from piratebay)

But yeah, torrents are mainly for pirated stuff.

Torrents are well know for installing infection even with well protected system.

that was mostly Emule. And even then, it's only if you download pirated software (from less-reputable sources).

I've downloaded hundreds and hundreds of torrents and not ONCE have ever had an infection. In fact, I haven't had a virus on any of my personal systems since Chernobyl hit in 1998 (showing my age...lol). Again, it is really all about user education. Know what to look for, know the warning signs, read comments where available, know what to avoid.

There's only speed increase if the torrent is popular enough, popularity=seeds=faster, remember that.
