Solved Which update not to install in Win7.

Hi, all!! I just restored my first Win7 laptop and haven't done any upgrades because apparently there's a one that once installed prompts you to upgrade to Win10. Which might this update be and can it be avoided at all? Thanks!!

Simplix is a single file with all security and non security updates without the trash (telemetry and tracking). Very good.
MS releases SP2 for Windows 7

That link takes me to UpdatePack7R2 but when i run it it says that i need SP1 as a prerequisite. I could look for the SP1 myself but is that the way is suppose to be? Thanks much

First Service Pack (SP1) is mandatory to install almost everything. It was the only big Win 7 upgrade.
If you don't have SP1, you need to install it first.
Win 7 SP1 - kb976932
IE 11 is no longer supported. Install Edge for Win 7

My list I did describe some questionable and less desirable updates that you may want to avoid. I have not included all the good updates, because the list would be endless then.
So there are no direct download links other than that I refer to microsoft update history of win7 and Microsoft Update Catalog

SP1 and 2 are already installed along with Edge. Feels great! Thanks guys Are there any other updates that i should install?

Did you set WU to manual on Services and never check on WU page?

If you didn't all trash will be installed by WU.
