I guess it's been about a year now that I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my main machine and have had no real issues with the OS.
only had a handful of BSOD's due to video card drivers and that's it.

I use my machine anywhere from 5-12 hours/day every day depending on if I am working or just playing on the machine.

who else is still using their original install?

Is it unusual to be running your original install? I very rarely ever re-install the OS on a machine?

Among techies, it might be a bit unusual. I play and experiment sometimes quite a bit with a machine and for this reason, often reinstall a couple of different times. With Windows 7, I've probably tinkered a bit less...but I do have a system image that I have restored a few times. So, while it's technically the same install...it's not the first time I have laid it down.

Nope. Not my original installation.

But this is mainly because of a system upgrade.

This particular installation I'm in atm has been installed since 10th February. I've tinkered plenty, but nothing that's been critical enough to warrant a re-installation.

Although I do like a fresh installation... and it has been 6+ months. Hmm :p

Many of my other systems have been rebuilt due to hardware changes, but I installed Windows 7 Pro last August 6th from TechNet, and it is still running strong.

This brings up the point that Windows 7 isn't XP, where it degrades over time and needs to be clean-installed every so often.

Nope - between dialling in overclocks across two rigs and a faulty video card - I saw plenty of blue screens :p

I'm happy to say they are now a rarity and are always easily able to determine (video or sound drivers)

I have a desktop, a laptop, and a netbook all running original installs of Win7. I installed them all right after Amazon shipped me 3 discs on release day (for $49 a pop).

I think this machine is the original install I put on here back at the end of 2009, 1 reinstall on my main system, since RTM (revert to office 2010 x32 from x64, was easier to re-install than hunt down all the posts Beta remnants).

My original win7 installs are all long gone as they were all BETA or before, and have long since expired :p

Oh and what's a BSOD? I have heard rumours but have never seen one on a win7 system of mine
