Why am I getting shocked by my inear headphones

I getting shocked by my in ear headphones (creative) when i move its cord beneath earphone junction..it might be static electricity or any sort of short circut...i only get these shocks when it is plugged to laptop only..neither it gives when it is plugged to phone or my ipod... i want to know can this static electricity may cause any problem to my laptop or its components like motherboard, sound card, ports etc.....i searched online but nothing mentioned about equipment damage...

I have no idea where your static electricity is coming from but yes it can cause computer damage.

Try your head phones in another computer and see if the problems is still their.

ii have tried with other pc it is not coming up there?

i have check it carefully it only occurs when it is on mains not on battery

Do you have a qualified person that can check the ground circuit on the wall socket?

Sooner or later all ground start and end up at the power ground.

thanks buddy for this awesome advice actually i have been used cord extension for my charger and that cord extension doesn't have earth/ground plug what i did now it attached my charger directly to socket and tada problem solved thanks but i am worried as i have been using this cord from past 20 days how to check if my pc have been damaged because of this issue now another important help needed

Never, NEVER use a ungrounded cord or plug of any kind to plug any Electronics into.

The only way to know if your system has been damaged is to just use it and see if any problems arise.
