Why does my browsers shutdown when i try to download anything.

I recently ran a adware scan to get rid of my adware. Upon completion I am no longer able to download anything do to my security settings. When I hit the run button after I click download it says cannont download do you want to retry and then before I can click retry my browser crashes and restarts. I am running windows 7 and it happens in both IE and google chrome. Ive tried to reset my IE and tried to run it without add ons and nothing is helping me. It says the same thing cannont download.

What malware was found and with what utility ?
If your having issues downloading these scanners use safe mode with networking and run them twice once in s.m.w.n. and booting normally,

You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).

Also use the Custom scan option not the Threat scan,

Please Do Not clean/ Delete or Remove Any detections before posting the scan results first before review especially Malwarebytes,

I tried to download ADWcleaner again so I can run it again. I used this site AdwCleaner - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com like I said I cant download anything period and when I try to download something my browser instantly shuts down.

I cant download anything. Period. Nothing can be downloaded on my computer. I cant run anything and I cant save anything. its all locked down. I press run, it starts to run when % is complete it says running scan, then file cannot be downloaded and my IE shuts down.

Hi and sorry I should of posted these directions.
Safe mode with networking,
Shut down your machine, Unplug-Hold the power button down for 30/45 seconds (Power Drain)
If a laptop remove the battery and do the above,
Power up and Tap the F8 key continuously until you see a black page with white text,
Use the down arrow key to toggle to safe mode with networking/ hit the enter key.
Login as usual
