Why is Adobe flash checker page still showing older version.

Someone here left me this pages link to check if i had the latest flash player and to my surprise this page still shows the older version .

Any reasons why?

Oops sorry , i forgot to post screenshot . What i would like is a page i could go to thats tells me what the current version is . I have no issues knowing what i have installed .

I use Opera by the way.

You should use that link for every browser you have since a Flash player is browser specific.

If you're referring to Adobe Flash Player's automatic update service, note that it can take several days or even a week before it's updated. And it only updates Flash for the default browser (at least on my system). So I always update Flash manually for my browsers.

That strange, when I did use auto updates, it did it all expect Google chrome browser. That updated by Google not Adobe. I had some issues with auto-updates effecting playing of video, so I disabled all auto updates.

Yes, Chrome is an exception. Maybe it depends on what browser is default. If you have for example Firefox as default but you also have Opera, a Flash update will appear to also have updated Opera which isn't true because they share the same Flash Player. In my case I had IE as default and it never auto-updated the Flash player for Firefox/Opera. Only the Active-X version for IE.

Please describe what browsers you have and which one is default so we can figure this out. It would be terrible if the way it works on my system is the standard method. That would explain why some people have sometimes several year old Flash Players in non-default browsers.

I know the issue you may have now.
You need to download one from Adobe from firefox, install it. Then you need to download Adobe from Internet explorer and then install it. Make sure both you chose auto update. Auto updates should work from them on and it should update Opera as well. Now, if you change it never update, you will need to do the above each time you want a new version.

That's how I "update" Flash every month. There's no auto update option during install. In Windows Control Panel - Flash Player, I've allowed Adobe to install updates but when it does it's only for the default browser.

Update: I searched and found a related issue at Adobe forums where it's explained that the auto updater should update both players just as you describe. So something must be wrong with Flash auto update on my system.

That's correct. But in this example we were talking about my PC and I have 2 different Flash players. It was just a continued discussion from your initial question. Sometimes that happens and it can be confusing

Hmm, Since when does Internet Explorer have flash built in? I think you are confusing that with Google Chrome. Google Chrome does that, when you choose to update it or chose automatic update. Windows Updates does not do flash update they did way in the past when it was Macromedia but not since it changed to Adobe. I update manually. For Internet Explorer 32 bit, I download the update manually from Internet explorer at the Adobe website and then install. For SeaMonkey & Firefox. I download it from SeaMonkey from the Adobe website & then I install it, then it will update all Mozilla plugin compatible browsers.

Strange, never included on my windows 7 system. I have done a clean install. Also, I never seen Adobe flash listed in windows 7 updates, even when Adobe issues updates. However, since I have UAC disabled, I am using the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer. I don't know if that would make any difference. There is a 64 bit flash that can be installed.

Go to Manage add-ons/ show all add-ons on the bottom left column,
Toolbars and extensions,
Flash object I believe it's still called,

The only place the version for ie11 is shown is in the control panel it's not listed in uninstall a program,
Since other browser use the same basic version of flash it might be confusing unless you uninstall what ever flash player that does show up in uninstall a program,
If you do remove anything in there ie11 will still show flash object in manage add-ons and in the control panel,
It can not be easily uninstalled in ie11,
Pretty much why I don't use ie11

Active x is not install on either it's a separate add-on,
I'm just talking about flash object not the active x plugin,
But yes ie11 in win-7 is also built in but just the flash object or basic flash player,
