Why my internet and dsl light re establish connection at each logon

Hi, Is it natural or ok, if my internet access is reestablished after internet light goes out and then reestablishes the connection?
What is the reason for this behaviour?
I checked the connections and router , and found every settings ok.
Would anybody give opinion and also the remedy

Is it a modem or router? Its normally a setting on the modem set idle time out which drops the line after in activity

Also, some systems are designed to only connect to the internet when in use, and this can be set by the ISP to cut down contention rates - more than one user shares all or part of the local (loop), part of the internet, this is standard practice with home user supplies, dropping the connection is also a standard method to make lines available to others.

This is a modern equivalent of the Old Shared Telephone lines that used to be use in small english villages, several people have their own Phone Number, but use the same line on a first come first serve basis, any subsequent calls,In or Out, give an engaged tone. In the internet system the bandwidth is shared so with two users on line you will get around half of the speed of when One only is on line

The amount of contention on lines depends on the Demand and the available infrastructure, I share the Fibre connection as far as the street cabinet then have a wired connection to the home, this gives me an option of 38 or 76 Mb/s direct fibre to the home gives speeds of 300Mb/s plus

You may be able to ask the ISP in your case, for a non shared line, but you can expect to be charged extra (often substantially more than a normal connection), as the leased lines are normally used as business lines

The idle time is set to 0 in my router. so, i think the problem is something else.

Thanks . But when i connect to a xp, using the same connection, i do not have any cut of internet access on every log on. I tested and the dsl and internet light remains green on every log on.
I tried all sorts of tricks , but still have this problem. I even tested my modem in the telephone exchange by connecting thro my port in that office and there was no loss of internet loss over there. The modem was configured by him and there was no internet loss for subsequent log on.
My understanding: When you restart, the computer shut down and restarts, when it shut down , the ethernet connection also disconnects and reconnects, but there should not be any change in or blinking of internet light or dsl on the combo modem. What would be the reason. I tried disabling ipv6, which my service provider at present does not have. Trouble shoot with microsoft by disabling ipv6 in network adapter settings etc.

What is your connection on the pc set to if its wrong it will think it has to dial up

Hi, I do not undersand. i do not have dial up options. please clarify, my pc is set up to get the dns automatically , if this is what you have mentioned

If you have it set to ppoe it will think it needs to dial from a CMD prompt type ipconfig /all. Post results
