Little problem this morning. Error on backup regarding shadow volume. Backup won't run. OK, go to Windows online, technical info, take 2 aspirin. Google problem, found some old threads, not much help. Blood pressure up.
Wait!!!! Seven Forums! Go into split screen and search problem. Yep, there it is. Ahhh that's whats wrong. Click, click, it's done, backup running. Now where did I set my coffee cup?

Who needs Windows help!!!!! I have a link to Seven Forums on my desktop.

There are times, when Windows help can be useful. But mostly for basic and trivial setting questions. Once you have something on the blink, the windows help on your system is of no use. There are, however, some Microsoft sites that can be useful - e.g. the Microsoft Fix-it Solution Center.

Screw Windows Help. I like posting my questions here and busting on noob responses.

When I first purchased a computer ... back in the day ... before 24/7 Internet access, I had two basic sources for answers: books (lots of big fat thick ones) or the built-in Windows Help. These days, Microsoft can update on-line help much easier than trying to update the "Help" files on (how many?) a huge number of Windows computers. I have tried Windows 7 Help, but it just points to an MS on-line source for the best info so I don't bother. I just go to MS or google. Google most often finds links to threads on this forum for answers to my 7 questions.

Cheers!
