Why you shouldn't buy cheap chargers! (please read)

Firstly i wasnt sure where to put this but im sure the mods will help me out.

Okay well....

So today i woke up in my normal mood made a few posts as normal.

When i got to work, i made me coffee and i was working in the server room.

All of a sudden i hear a very loud bang and scream it was like a gunshot had gone off.

I thought nothing of it, this screaming continued for about 3 seconds, so i went to find out what had happened.

A young lady within my team had plugged a Ipad charger in that she bought of amazon.

Only to her amazement it exploded in her hand blowing one of her fingers clean off.

Please, only use genuine chargers from a trusted supplier.

I will attach some photo's where you can the charger after the incident.

This is 240v going though a Tiny wire with no fuse or Resistor.

Isn't there supposed to be some kind of British Standard for plugs, chargers, etc? Very surprised to hear that.

Another example of false economy. Buying a cheap charger, or many other devices as well, will save you some money up front but the long term (or even short term) cost is often higher.
