First off, probably a bad idea to share harddrives if your OS is included in this group.

To use homegroup, click through the tabs at the top of this site for a how-to: HomeGroup from start to finish - Help & How-to - Microsoft Windows

If you are having another problem, please let me know as it was unclear in your first message.

So they don't work in a homegroup wirelessly is what you are saying. But both computers can still connect to the internet wirelessly, just not each other.

Do this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

Then make sure windows is completely updated on both computers, and make sure they have the latest wireless adapter drivers. If you need help, let me know what both adapters are called and I will look them up for you.

Also, without the wired connection, use wireless to, once more, ensure that both computers can indeed connect to the internet.

Meh...it's okay

confirm that both computers can connect to the internet at the same time if the laptop is using wireless.

did you follow the tutorial I provided?

Is windows updated on both computers?

Perhaps when the laptop switches to wireless, it becomes a 'public' network. Go here: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center

You will see a computer and monitor with your computer name under it. Right below that it will say 'network', and tell you if you have a home or public network. Click it and switch to HOME.

Did you try this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-HomeGroup-troubleshooter - worked for me last time I had trouble.
