Will gaming kill my computer?

Merely stating a fact about amps and clipping not making a point to the family dynamic. This very fact is exactly the same for our PSU's. Cheers !

i love this forum lol.. Ive done searching and using a couple programs Ive determined that cpu temp 1 is 22c and temp 2 is 33 and when i was using speedfan it displayed a cpu temp 3 but with -128c .. shocking but im sure their is no temp 3 for my cpu? Hows my temperatures looking.. I got 22 and 33 degrees while running 2 hd movies, msn, huge photoshop applications, 3 games, facebook, mozilla firefox, google chrome, and internet explorer, running and a bunch of other stuff :D

Low - Mid 30s is usally normal for idle temps.

But, sometime idle temps can be reported inaccurately. So do not rely too much on them.

The best way to know how well your cooling solution is doing, is start up and run a Prime 95 stress test for a while.

Give it maybe 15 or 20 minutes.

Then check your CPU tempratures after it has been under that full load for a little bit.

This will actually give a bit better idea. Since CPUs many times report tempratures more accurately the closer they get to TjMAX.

Besides, if you think about, what difference does it make what the tempratures are when the PC is doing nothing?
What matters most are the load temps.

If it idles and 25C but cant hant handle a load without overheating or getting close too, its all pointless.

Ideally, under a FULL load:
For Intels, A MAX temp of 60-65C will be fine.
For AMDs, I want to say its 50-55C . (Please correct me if Im wrong here, been a while with AMD CPUS)

Obviously lower is better, but if you can stay under these temps when the CPU is under a Full load, you'll have no problems what so ever.

As far as the Speed Fan TEMP of 128C, its a reference to a sensor that doesn not exist on your set up.
Dont worry about it, its a common problem with speedfan.

Besides, if anything was really 128C, you would have known it well before now.

The -128C thing is due to the program not being able to identify the sensor on the CPU. It would be nice if you could actually get that. :D

I'm surprised that graphics card hasn't blown up yet...

Where'd you get such a good processor and ram, but a horrible GPU?

Here's a comparison list of your card:

Excess of anything is not good.
Don't do excess gaming, do moderate. Your pc needs rest too.

I won't agree with this, a PC can be used for weeks without being shut down, the components are designed to last and endure heavy use

Hey, Ive been wondering if I play games too much on my computer if it will get ruined.. My parents seem to think so but I dont agree with them.
It depends on your cooling components, excessive heat can damage the parts
I never shut-down my pc.
I build a new updated pc every few years i switch ON and never shut-down.
24hours/365 days NEVER shut-down,with no problems.
I work, watch hd movies, play high end games everything in full specs and i never had any problem!

I don't really know what working a computer to hard is. The main thing I watch when doing something new that might be using my hard drive, ram ect. more than usual is the temps. If you temperatures stay normal then I don't worry about it. I turn my computers off when their not in use; I don't know of a good reason to leave them on when not is use. All that happens is they create heat and use up electricity and may shorten your computers life. If you temps. go up give your computer a good cleaning and extra cooling if need be.

Mines always on as well.

Back when I was recoding a bunch of my BluRays movies, I would Queue up a bunch of stuff and get it started encoding.

There were a couple times this machine was running full bore 100% load for 2-3 days straight.

I work mine to death and it keeps right on along no problems.

As long as nothings overheating, there should nothing to worry about.

Its all on the highest possible settings.. no lag and I dont even run game booster or turn off my antivirus during play. Filtering is antrosproctic (wrong spelling) 16x , Anti aliasing is 4x and everything else is high (reflective world, high detail, etc)
