I've made the switch to Windows 7 from Ubuntu to find that Windows doesn't recognize my wifi hardware (Intel Centrino Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150). It worked fine on Ubuntu. I've searched the web trying to find the proper driver, and at last I thought I had finally gotten it by downloading and installing the Intel PROSet/Wireless WiMAX utility + driver but to no avail. My laptop isn't able to find my home network. Currently on an Ethernet cable. I'd really appreciate the help!

In case you are unsuccessful at the mfgr's website, the easiest way to find the driver for your wifi adapter is to do a Windows update. After scanning for updates, look at the "optional" updates - one of them will very likely be for your wifi adapter. Uncheck everything except for that one update, then download and install it.

Another option is to go into Device Manager in Windows, look for the wifi adapter listing, right-click on it, then choose Properties. Dig around in there for a four-character VEN code and a four-character DEV code. (VEN = vendor and DEV = device). Then go to www.pcidatabase.com and look up the driver using the VEN or the DEV code.

Good luck.

I use Samba to share my data drive with the other computers at my house and with my guest session in VMWare Workstation Player.
DID it compatible with ur OS version? check it PROPERLY!.. IF YES, UNINSTALL and RE-INSTALL it back (WIFI DRIVERS), use provided CD by manufactures and see any improvement?
after that was done - SET it back as per requirements or policy. thats it!
