I have a Toshiba Portege running Win 7 Pro 64-bit. Until recently, I have not used bluetooth on it.

Having recently purchased a 66audio BT SPORT Headset, I downloaded the Toshiba bluetooth drivers and config utility. I have had nothing but problems making it work.
  • Headset playback device pairs, but built-in microphone does not.
  • Headset shows as a valid device, but does not play when powered off/on, until Windows BT is disabled/renabled.
  • more I won't bore you with

So, I thought to uninstall it all (I did) and look for the Microsoft BT Stack. Lo and Behold! I cannot find anything.

Could someone please point me at a bluetooth installation guide that includes protocol stack and driver downloads? Thank you.

Download the Driver for your Bluetooth from the Toshiba Website ...

After doing so if you still have the issue ....

Open the Device Manager.

Open the properties dialog for your Bluetooth adapter.

Click the "Update driver" button under the "Driver" tab.

Select the option for browsing your computer for a driver.

Select the option for choosing from a list.

Pick the Microsoft Bluetooth stack should be called Generic Bluetooth Adapter

Two generic drivers appear. Both seem to produce the same behavior.

No, I popped $ for a driver updater which seems to have found and fixed things that Windows and Dell could not. The problem is now mitigated.
