Hello Forum:

1) Yesterday I first saw the popup from Windows Activation Technologies, "This computer is not running genuine Windows". I am the original owner and this computer came with a Win7 license when bought new from HP.

2) I tried to run the SF Diagnostic Tool, but it hangs. I then ran the tool's tests one at a time, with the following results:

a) minidump - ok
b) dxdiag - hangs after full blue progress bar
c) hosts - hangs, but writes file
d) eventlog " "
e) driver list - ok
f) msfinfo32 - hangs after full blue progress bar, writes file
g) system info - ok

3) I have been seeing the popup "There is a problem with your tablet driver". I have deleted all WACOM files, directories, and drivers with no success. I have not touched the registry. The popups seem to appear now at startup from cold boot, and also when certain () programs launch, not sure which ones.

In the attached zip file I have included the output files, and also screenshots of the two popups.

Apologies in advance if I have not posted this to the correct location.

Thank you for taking a look :-)

Hi EMC

Been a while since i've seen that error, relates to a bad set of intel drivers
(have you just changed your hard drive)

Any way please do the following

Install the Iata.enu set, at the bottom, from this link
Download Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST)

note
Intel are depracting older drivers

Don't think it is intel driver

Hi Torchwood:

Thank you for the fast reply.
I don't think it is the Intel RST drivers.

I don't think my chipset supports those drivers. That driver package supports software RAID among other things. I am familiar with that driver set used in Win7 desktops. Here's what I did to double-check

1) I ran HP Update manager, it said all drivers were up to date

2) I went to Intel website linked by page you recommended. From there I ran the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant, which did a 10 minute scan of my machine. It gave a thorough listing and reported all drivers up to date. See below/attached

3) I have found the "uninstall Win 7 update KB971033, but I was waiting to see if this forum had other ideas besides this. With Win 7 out of support I assume I may not be able to reinstall what I remove.

Thank you...

Hi

Never said your drivers were not upto date.

Its a known error whereby there is a corruption in the driver

from that page
This driver supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The driver should be installed after the operating system has been installed. F6 and RAID BIOS configurations need to be performed prior to installation of this driver for proper operation.

kb971033 is irrelevant here leave it be

did you update any drivers in the last week, or Bios, if so use a roll back point prior to the non-genuine
and reset the update drivers via windows

control panel >> system >> advanced system settings (top left) >> hardware > device installation settings--- No & Never
