Solved Win 7 asking for non-existant password

OH for heaven sakes!!!

Was is really this simple?
After hundreds of hours to fix this, we finally decided, to create a login password to user name on Win 7 machine.

That fixed the whole problem. Win 7 assumes you made a password and just demands it. If you try this, and I hope it works... this is the simplest fix I've ever seen.

I can also now, see my Mac on the Win 7 machine... still can't get my mac to see the Win 7 or the XP

but that's a MAC problem.

Wow, that is a simple (but apparently not a well documented) solution!. Thanks for letting us know.

Advice Worked For Me

After reading this thread, I put a password on the system requiring it. Using this password I am able to access the system and the shared folders. I've been working on this since installing the new system last month.

So simple, when you have the right information. Couldn't find it anywhere else.

Thanks for being here and posting ideas until the solution was found.

You have no idea how good that makes me feel.*lol*

I just wish there was a way to get this out to the world. Maybe a local TV station? There are just too many forums across the net asking this same damn question. I know, because I've searched for an answer for 6 months.

You're welcome. *G*:grouphug: :geek:
