Hi, i am new inhere and want to say hi to all of you!

Now to my problem:

When I push the powerbutton on my packard bell notebook,
the screen remains black, after a few minutes a gray bar appears at the bottom of the screen and says windows is loading files.
But I don't have any clue which file my system should be loading..

After the bar is finished, about 5 minutes nothing is happening.
Then the starting screen appears without a starting window where you normally chose your user and enter your PW. Furthermore the resolution is pretty low on that sreen.

Then 5 to 10 minutes nothing happen and i can't do anything at all cause there's nothin to click on.

Then a suddenly a new window appears where the system is checking itself for errors or something like that.
When it finishes, I press the finish button and the system shuts down.

When i start my notebook again, nothing changed and the same as i explained above happens again..

Would it be possible to enter the "safe mode" by any cmd command or something comparable?

Furthermore i don’t have any recovery files, so I do have to find a way to save all my files before I have to do a new installation (if there's no other possibility)

I really don't know how to solve this problem, and I would be really thankful if someone has any solutions or helpful suggestions.

Welcome to SF!

Do you have a CD/DVD you can boot from? How about a friend lending you one...
From what you are saying I don't see any other way...

Thanks for your reply!

I certainly do have a DVD for repair and I did a backup DVD of my system when I bought the notebook.
I tried the DVD with the repair software from windows but there were not any other possibilities than before. I'm just able to let the system try repairing itself which does not help anything.

I just get the error , that there are NO system files .
I do not get it, i did not delete them or anything else.. did my laptop get infected??

Thanks!

And happy thanksgiving too ;)

I already tried the startup repair and the windows memorx diagnostic but none of both helped solve the problem and getting my laptop start properly..

If you have all your backups,
and you have a Windows installation CD,
and
your computer will boot from that CD,
it seems to me that you should be able to re-install Windows.

Skip the 'Repair' idea altogether.
Format your HDD and start over.

That gray bar telling you that windows is loading files sounds very much like it's trying to re-do a failed installation.
That is not what you want.

If, for some reason, your Windows CD won't let you run a format, try using another Bootable CD, or Thumb-Drive with software on it that will allow you to format the drive.

Partitioning Tools and many Imaging tools allow you to make bootable CD's.

You must have Boot Priorities set up in BIOS to check the DVD/CD drive BEFORE the HDD.

I really think you need to format that HDD and start over.

After you have tried all this stuff, if you are still having problems, then please send me a play-by-play list of all the steps you took and what the results were at each stage.

We will get this worked out, yet...
