Hi,

I'm getting a recurring error in my system log. The Event Log Online Help link follows:

Event ID 10016

Per the instructions in the above link, when I open Component Services and click on My Computer in step 3, I don't see a COM+ Applications to be able to go to step 4.

I'm running Win 7 Pro x64 on an Intel DX58SO w/ i7-930 & 6GB memory.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Regards

FYI - Issue resolved.

I deleted the APPID, {344ED43D-D086-4961-86A6-1106F4ACAD9B}, from the registry after making a backup before hand. The system booted without errors and everything seems to be working fine. That entry may have been obsoleted by updates or something else, because it seems to be trash left over from some time in the past.

I checked the Windows Logs and I don't see any errors after reboot.

Regards

Same problem!

I have exactly the same error - the identical CLSID and APPID. I tried this fix, but Regedit wouldn't let me delete it. It's not causing any apparent problem, but I don't like unexplained errors.

Yes, I tried that. Same problem. Not allowed. I don't think that CLSID actually does anything - I've not noticed anything not working - but nor will it go away.

Solved it! A bit of Googling revealed this:
Regedit, select your key, right-click--Permissions--Advanced--Owner, select Administrators, Apply. Then grant FC to System, and, if you like, to Administrators also.
Job done. Now to restart and see if the error (or a different one) occurs...
