Good afternoon: I have a Brother All in One MFC-L2710DW. I can print via the Network but scan will not function unless I use FSB. I contacted Brother and we determined the Win Firewall was blocking this feature. I disabled Fire Wall for Private Network and it operates perfectly. This is a new phenomena, started several months ago. Is there a way to add the scanner as an exception?
Thanks in advance
J Welk

I you weren't using the firewall before the problem just keep it disabled for good.
But if you are actively using it, you need to know what port/protocol and direction it uses for the connection and add a rule to allow it.

Thank you for the response. After I posted the above I went back and reactivated the firewall on the private network. I tried scanning again and behold it worked. I then shut down and restarted the computer and once again it scanned.
